In short: KeepOtter collects no data. Everything the app knows about your photos stays on your iPhone. And this website works without cookies and without tracking.
This is a translation for convenience. The German version (Datenschutz) is the binding one.

1 The app
No data collection
KeepOtter collects no personal data. The app has no server of its own, no analytics service, no ad network and sends no crash reports to us. That is why it carries the App Store label “Data Not Collected”. We do not know who uses the app or what happens inside it.
Processing only on the device
All computation runs on your iPhone: recognizing copies, series and screenshots, measuring storage sizes, reading text in screenshots. Results and settings live in the protected app storage of your device. Nothing is uploaded. You can check this yourself: turn on Airplane Mode, and the app keeps working.

Photo access
To review your library, KeepOtter needs access to your photos. You grant this access through the iOS system dialog and can revoke it or limit it to a selection at any time in Settings. The app reads photos, videos and their metadata (for example date, size, location) locally only. It makes no copies of your pictures and transfers no pictures. Only what you confirm is deleted, and iOS asks once more.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, for example for the event recap or the monthly report, the app creates them locally on the device. There is no push server and no registration. Notifications contain no picture content.
Purchases through Apple
Purchases and subscriptions go through the App Store and your Apple ID. Apple processes your payment data; we see neither payment data nor your name. The app only checks on the device whether a purchase exists (Apple StoreKit). Apple's privacy policy applies.
No accounts, no sync
There is no user account, no sign-in and no syncing between devices. If you delete the app, its data is deleted from the device with it.
2 This website
Hosting and server logs
This website (keepotter.app) is a static site. When you visit, the server processes technically necessary connection data in its logs.

No cookies, no tracking
This site sets no cookies and uses no visitor statistics, no ad pixels and no embedded third-party services. The only value stored in your browser is your choice between light and dark design (localStorage). It is not transmitted to us.
Contact by email
There is no contact form. If you email us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete the emails once the matter is settled and no retention duties apply.
